FAITH
MIT Pocahontas Simmons
Acts 8:29-31 - The Spirit told Phillip; “Go to that chariot and stay near it.” Then Phillip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Phillip asked. “How can I, he said, unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Phillip to come up and sit with him.
Proverbs 3:5-6 states that we should trust in the Lord with everything, and not lean to our own knowledge; but IN ALL OUR WAYS acknowledge him, and he will direct our paths. Evangelism is no different. Often we believe that more is required to reach out and minister to others. We then create outrageous expectations that we cannot live up to and disqualify ourselves as witnesses before reaching the starting line. But if we are to run the race in excellence, the Word says that we must trust God to “do it,” and his Word promises that he will!
The Spirit of God told Phillip where he needed to be, and once he arrived, he realized that the work was prepared for him. Remember that God will fully equip you for any situation he will put you in, and the Holy Spirit is your guide to success. The Word says that once getting the directive from the Spirit of the Lord Phillip ran to that destination. We must pursue God’s work with the same tenacity, having faith and being confident that we can do ALL things in Christ.
There are no words to describe the awesome power, strategy, and love of our God. By living a life pleasing to our King, God gains glory. What a beautiful arrangement! This means that even with our flaws, mistakes, failures, and setbacks God STILL shines through. Our recovery, unwavering faith, and consistency ministers more than words could ever express. So be confident in the Lord and in his ability to work through you!
Oh Lord, I thank you for the mercy and grace you bestow on your children and the divine privilege of spreading the life-changing message of the gospel. You gave us the honor to spread life by communicating your beautiful word of life and divine liberty throughout the earth. Lord, search my heart and as I seek you, reveal to me the ways in which I can become a better representative of the Kingdom. My love for you exceeds the temptation of fear, doubt, and rejection. I commit to having an open ear, heart, and willingness to walk in obedience to any command you give. Lord let me decrease so that you may increase so that when others see me they see you and by that you again receive the glory, in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
